On Board Emirates Flight 124 (B777-300ER Rego A6-ENF)

It's been a really pleasant flight so far... Gail and I both watched 'The Sapphires' and really enjoyed it. The view outside has been really clear...saw Ankara below and a high snow covered mountain...I'm guessing Mt Aararat but will have to check my geography. (Probably not...Mt Aararat is further north...Ed)

I should have seen Baghdad too but was too engrossed in the movie to notice. Possibly over Kuwait I saw a very strange sight... rows of spot fires seemingly laid out in a pattern... I'm guessing they must be oil wells.

We reached the top if the Persian Gulf just on sunset so flew the rest if the way to Dubai in darkness. Dubai looked a lot better lit up at night than it did in daylight 4 weeks ago. The meals were really good on this flight.
