Beginning to travel down the West Coast we started seeing a change of scenery, travelling along a lot of coastal roads it was so beautiful. After an early start I met up back with my group of friends at the hostel and got the ferry to the South Island. Beautiful day but it was freezing!!!! We headed further south to arrive Taupo, probably my favourite place on the North Island. It was beautiful, the weather was great, blue skies, a few clouds and the sun shining. Rotorua smells like rotten eggs....it really was awful. You know what I'm like for my smells anyway, I was nearly heaving every minute. Its because of the sulphur as its one of the most active volcanic areas in the world, and has hundreds of natural hot springs around. It was a short flight from Fiji to Auckland and I got the Airbus into the city where Alec was waiting for me (met in Fiji, was also in NZ) which was cool and I stayed at the Queen Street Backpackers it was cool.
