-15 today! Can it get any colder?!!!

Didn`t want to be out in the cold for too long, so we decided to take a short walk to the German Christmas market as we read that it was open Friday - sunday. As we got there we found it still to be closed! We were so disappointed!

We popped into the tourist information centre to ask when the market is actually open and found out that it was 4pm, so we decided to come back to it later.

As we were already out we walked to the Observation tower and passed the Parliament building along the way. It was great to see, but no way near as beautiful as Ottawa`s Parliament Hill!

The Observation tower is actually a really ugly building and quite shocked that its a tourist attraction! However we paid $5 to be able to see Québec city at a greater height. Was a different scenery from what I`m used to as the landscape was covered in snow, with snow top mountains in the distance that were slightly hidden from the mist. It was very beautiful to see Québec city from such a height and was great to pin point where we had already been.

After having lunch back at the hostel we ventured back to the Christmas market in the late afternoon. I`m really pleased that we were able to have a look around at dusk as all the lights were on and it looked so inviting!

There wasn`t many wooden huts which was a shame as we would have braved the cold even more so just to take in the festive scene! We were both so excited - we were like little kids! What excited us even more was that the huts we were hoping to be there were there! We both managed to get our mulled wine and walk around the market with it; I managed to get my chestnuts and we both treated ourselves with a nutella and cinnamon crepe - which was dribble sensation! I would definately go back and experience it all again!!
