Well, made it to Whistler! Our first actual travelling experience, and also our first GreyHound experience...and I think I can say that we sailed through it! I was pretty sad to leave the Burnaby Hostel as I was starting to feel a little at home! We had it pretty easy there!
I was annoyingly over weight with my luggage as we arrived at the GreyHound bus station, where I had to pay an extra $22. I am definately going to be sending some gear back home soon, as I can't afford to keep paying out!
I had mixed feelings with regards to the GreyHound buses, as I've heard alot of mixed reviews about them, but I was actually pleasantly suprised. They were alot more comfortable than what I had thought. The bus journey to Whistler was breath taking. The views that we saw along the way words cannot describe! Alot of the journey was along a great expanse of water, with tree covered mountains higher than the clouds - you couldn't see the peaks as they were so high. We also passed fast running rivers, almost rapids and the water was icey blue! We also drove past waterfalls. I'm so glad we were able to travel on the ground and not fly, as we're experiencing so much more!
At the moment I am impressed with Canada's public transport!
The hostel we're staying at here in Whistler was originally built for the athletes for the 2010 Winter Olympics and is more like a hotel!
Before even entering the hostel I read a sign warning that a bear had been sighted right by the hostel and for everyone to be on their guard! This s*** me up!
Went into Whistler Village after dropping our luggage off at the hostel, as we wanted to experience the village at night. It was beautiful at night! Had a lovely warm glow about the place. Its a shame we're not here for ski season - I'm definately thinking of coming back!
