Hey petals! We were so glad to leave Hanoi, in the end the pollution, endless beeping, strange food and overly persistent street vendors did our heads in a little bit! We took a sleeper train the twelve hours south from Hanoi and had a lovely journey. We shared a berth with an old Vietnamese couple who helped me learn some useful phrases and were happy to share food and drink with us. They live in Nha Trang and have invited us out for a meal when we pass through :) Hue is very small and has a relaxed atmosphere. We explored the citadel and forbidden purple city within...gorgeous old buildings with a chinese influence. It was heavily bombed during the American war but is still really impressive. I was too poorly to go on the motorcycle tour today so stayed in bed, but Michael went along with Angela and John (I work with Angela and bumped into her in the street the other day...small world!!) The photos look lovely, but Im just concentrating on keeping my food down at the mo! Have a five hour bus journey to Hoi An later today so im off for a lie down just now!
