Day 1068 Happisburgh - Norfolk
Another frosty start to the day accompanied by last night's left-overs. Left about 9.30 and drove through to Wymondham where the chemists were putting drugs out on a table + tablecloth with a cup of cough mixture to wash it down. Den invested in a shampoo and set and a chest-hair-trim she was beginning to look like Keith. We then motored onto Ellough to the Farmer's Market... great place with home-made wine and freshly grown bread...

Happy Birthday Dad, love Spencer and Lynda xxx

Am confused over the picture of the seal! Is it the one with the yellow coat on and a beard? Or the one with just the beard? As for the seal following you Maureen if it's got it's tongue hanging out then that's Keith! Poor fella he is trying to keep up!! Just out of interest how much were the pedals for Keith's bike?
Before you say it! Yes Deb has taught me how to use the computer!
No stopping me now!!

For Sabine And David
Hi you Two
We are considering putting you back on the current friends list, as we have a gap of places to stay in Switzerland!
At present we are in Surat Bay and its Tuesday 2 March we are here for another day and then we are off to Dunedin on Friday so if you want to have some old friends around it will probably be there I would think.
Best regards from your very old ex frends

Hey Ex-friends from England The nice Swiss-Team is back from Milford Sount...we finally survived!! After this four really long days we have a day off in TeAnau, also because of the rain!
Where are you now! Maybe we could meet again, if you are not too far away!!
See you Sabine and David
4 David And Pauline
Hello Dave and Pauline,
Yes we are fine and staying well at present, a little tried today just completed 85k and yesterday around 100k but the wind or should I say gales are brewing-up and that really does take it out of you. We have now covered approximately 1,400k since we arrived but we do have some days rest so the mileage would be higher if we cycled each day. We are nearly 2/3rds around the South Island but we intend to go inland on some rail-track roads, hopefully they will not be too bad for our bikes to cope with. They have been holding up well, no maintenance and no punctures but we have special tyres and I know a bloke who knows what he is doing . . . all the better. Accommodation has been mixed, but it's fine, I didn't want to bring camping gear for so many reasons, weight, sleeping in the tent in the wet when you have ridden for miles (I must be getting old). The accommodation varies from Motels to Backpackers Hostels but you meet a lot of different people, young and old alike and some are undertaking incredible things (will tell everyone on the blog). Food is fine, sometimes we eat out if it's cheap enough and other times we buy food and cook it in the kitchens provided at the backpacker hostels. Cannot complain about the weather we have had good and bad but N.Z is a most exciting place to visit. Best of luck with the Wedding plans, they always seem to do this when you don't expect it!!!!!!!
Love to all the family and pleased to see that you are reading the blog.

mmmm, nice to see you mentioned your kids, "Thanks to all our friends and others for the comments/digs etc." .... so we are the "others" nice one!!
Saw your video, I wept, slowly but surely wept, with joy and an ache in my heart from your absence! You keep enjoying yourself and mum keep on interupting!!

Thanks to all our friends and others for the comments/digs etc.
Especially glad to get a message from Dean (did Debs show you how to use the computer)?
Also good to hear from the present incarnation (not evaporated milk) of the former contributor that was "the man with no life". Had to tell you Ron that we were outside a lakeside bar enjoying a drop of NZs finest amber stuff in the sunshine when on the sound system came John Lee Hooker and "let the good times roll" and I have to say I thought of you immediately . . . so someone does love you after all!
Brian and Julia it has been everything you said it would be and we most definitely have a visit/meal on the schedule just as soon as we fly back in the CHC. We will contact you as soon as we know when. Have you had any referrals we are spreading the "Cyclist Retreat" gospel to anyone who will listen, we have told all and sundry to use before they lose it.

Just thought I would let you know all is ok at work and we are keeping things ticking over! Not really missing you to be honest as I find it very hard to talk to you!! It's quite handy that John is here as we seem to have far better conversations than me and you do! Adam has taken control of the studio department and sorted out all the problems you seemed to have operating the mac's! We are flowing like a well oiled machine now! Try not to miss us all here too much and enjoy your well earned short break! Oh and by the way we have had a reshuffle up in the office and we have now relocated your chair and desk to the car park!! Have fun and speak soon..maybe! Your friend Dean. Love to you too Maureen I have always preferred you to Keith!
