Hi Alizon and Paul
Sorry to have not replied to your first missive, but don't remember it coming . . . however thanks for getting in touch. We are a couple of days away from the north island now and we will certainly get in touch when we are there and on the way up towards you guys.
Glad to gear you ripped their legs off on the 100K, we met a couple on the Otago Trail from Auckland who were also going to do that ride so maybe you me up, apparently there was only the odd few thousand taking part!!!
Will catch up soon, and thanks for the offer

Hi Not sure if you got our 1st message but if you manage to get to Northland be sure to let us know as you are very welcome to stay . Hope holiday is going as well as it sounds with all the interesting people and sights etc. Just finished the 100k Roturua to Taupo flyer with some stories to tell!!!
Bald Fat Bloke
Lovely warm bright morning so decided to walk around the bay. We've decided that its better to walk when the weather is fine and only use the bikes when it rough - that way you are all really impressed with how fit and rugged we are.
Beautiful tranquil place here with boat harbours, nice coffee houses and a great fish & chip restaurant, ideal for just relaxing. . . can't wait to move on and get back to some out-of-the-way dive with sweaty bikers and greasy chains on the breakfast table...
Can't face the blog today, typing is so much harder than cycling - I don't know how some people sit at computers all day every day - especially when there's another hill to climb.
The Clampets
Happy belated birthday! Dad says 60 is the new 50 (or somthing like that....anyway, nothing to worry about until you start embracing beige in a big way) Sorry we are late but in true clampet style, we is a bit behind the curve. Sounds like you are having the best time whilst us wage slaves live vicariously though you - keep it up! xx
The New 60 Year Old
Hi Folks and thanks to you guys for the birthday wishes and have to say it is an absolutely brilliant way to spend any birthday let alone your 60th. These have been some of the most memorable days of our lives and we have enjoyed them so much and being 60 seems to add to it believe it or not.
Really great to hear from Scott and and Jenny who are still on the trot and we really hope that you two are still having a great time on your travels.
So good also to hear from Scott B and Katie, sad that your trip is over but glad to hear that you have a cycle trim in the planning, sure you don't need any inspiration you two already have the T-shirts, they just need dusting off along with the bikes . . . have a great time guys.
Will be updating the web site again in the very near future.
All the very best

Well in true Britishness I'll start by saying the weather is beginning to perk up. But it might just be a red Herring. Trouble with that is that stuff is staring to grow ready to go in on the allotment but ground not full prepared.
Went for a stroll at Poulsden Lacey last weekend. Might just as well have been in Piccadilly Circus. The place was heaving. Queue at the cafe was so slow I even had time for a spot of speed dating. I'm sure I impressed her with my extreame pessamium. Alright I know thats spelt wrongly. Do I care Do I f--.
Whats this about Birthday Erbert. Does this mean you are flying us out to NZ for cakes and tea. Won't hold my breath. Trying to stay focused on the dry rot in Lancashire at the moment. After all I'm sure you wouldn't what me to be too relaxed.
These pics of mountains are all OK. But I mean when you've seen on etc. Still it must be nice going down the other side. What is Lake 'Take a Poo' and 'Done Eatin' Best bit about your Blog is the names of places.
Hope i'm not being to cheerful but had to have cat put down last monday. Still it had to happen sometime.
Are you back it time for the erection (Election). Another opportunity to get screwed. Normally when you have a job interview. They want to know what you have done in the past. Politicians only want to tell you what they are going to do. Then when they get in they have five years to think of a reason why they couldn't deliver the good.
I'm rooting for a hung parliament then we can just give em a puch once in a while and watch em swing side to side.
Anyway enough of this I find myself cheering up and that will never do.

Enjoying your blog - Lake Tekapo looks lovely and the views outstanding. Must say the recent accommodation is an improvement - didn't like the sound of the bunk beds (does that mean you have to share)! We are going to East Hoathley next Thursday to select our "pitch" for the season - apparently there will be 30 caravans arriving all on the same day at 12 o'clock - what fun that sounds - Dave can't wait. WISHING KEITH A HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY FOR NEXT WEEK - hope you have a terrific day. Take care & lots of love.
