Hollywood roundup
We had 5 days left in West Hollywood, Banana Bungalow and we didn't want to spend too much money or eat in any restaurants. Getting to Union Station we jumped in a cab to The hostel! We went to Trader Joes to get our health on and CVS to get some bevs. A box of of an exciting drink called Bud lime-a-ritas (beer and margarita)!
A new obsession we had discovered in San Diego was Pinkberry, which was the perfect refreshing treat in the hot sticky cities! Frozen yoghurt and your choice of topping Mmmh! We got one of those from The Grove.
We spent our evenings cooking dinner and in front of the TV watching films so not to go out and spend money!
On Sunday we woke up early and paid the $2 entrance fee to Melrose Trading Post, which was opposite our hostel. It was a huge market with lots of stalls in Fairfax School playground. We spent the whole morning strolling through all the stalls and had a homemade lemonade. It was a great way to loose a morning and a great place to get bits and bobs to fill a house or wardrobe.
The next day we got the bus to Santa Monica to sit on the beach in the sun and eat a packed lunch. We explored the pier and paid $3 to go to the little aquarium. There was a touching tank with star fish and sea urchins, other tanks with a huge lobster, eels, tiny sharks, jelly fish and sea monkeys. Lots of fun for $3!
Another day we got the bus to Forever Hollywood the cemetery. We found three graves of people we knew; DeeDee Ramone, Toto and the most epic gravestone was of Joey Ramone!
Kuya Nonong and Ate Fay took us out for dinner one night to Universal Studios. It was our farewell! Universal Studios was mad! A fake little world with restaurants, shops, bars and a fun fountain. It made me realise we should of paid the $80 to go to the adventure park when we first got here but could no longer afford it! We had dinner at an Italian American place that did family sized portions so we shared a pizza and pasta. Thank you for treating us!
