Day 7 - Palma de Mallorca
Today we finally slept in! Most of the crew slept well past 9 and we realized at 9:50 that the buffet breakfast only lasted until 10! Kevin ran upstairs to grab a few things to get us through until lunch. We planned to stay on the boat instead of getting off. While it would have been nice to see the beaches of Mallorca, it seemed silly to pay for a bus ride to a beach when we had a perfectly good pool and water slide at our disposal!
After breakfast, Kevin took the oldest three upstairs to try to do one of the scavenger hunts while I started packing up the state rooms. The kids were not really in the mood for the scavenger hunt though and they didn’t make it very far. Instead they came down to get their swimming suits on and head to the pool. After I got a little more packing done Whit and I headed up for lunch and I brought Whit to the nursery for his nap. That allowed me and Kevin to both go in the pools and on the slides since Whit can’t do either due to not being potty trained yet. We hung out in the pools and watched Toy Story. I tried to get onto the kids water slide but I hadn’t seen the age restriction of 14! The boys did the AquaDuck once but the line was super long, so we opted to hang out in the pools.
Liam wanted to get a picture and signature with Donald Duck so we left the pool area and headed downstairs. The kids decided that since it was the last day they needed to have soft serve ice cream cones with ALL the flavors! They loved their big cones with so many flavors! After meeting Donald, they decided they wanted to go to the kids club one more time so we dropped them off for a bit before dinner and picked up Whit since he was up from his nap. As we left the nursery Mickey Mouse was walking by and he stopped to say hello and play peek-a-boo with Whit, who is just enamored with Mickey! It was so special.
Kevin, Whit and I did a couple of laps around the track as well as explored the fourth floor adult only sections that we hadn’t been to. There are several clubs and bars with different themes (champagne bar, a pub, etc) in addition to the adults only restaurants and pool areas. Then it was time to get ready for dinner and pack whatever we could. We found out that there was a storm trooper from Star Wars in the kids club teaching them about stuff but of course our kids opted to play Star Wars games on the iPad instead !
Our last dinner was in the Royal Palace where we had another great meal. We knew it was the last time we’d see our servers, so we said our thank yous and good byes at the end of the night. We made a plan at dinner that we were going to skip the last show and instead try to ride the Aqua Duck water slide at night when it was all lit up. We dropped Whit off at the nursery again and ran downstairs to change and headed up to the pool…and we had it all to ourselves!! There were maybe 4-5 other people that were coming/going while we were there but it was so much fun. We used the Mickey Pool as our warm up station and me, Kevin and the boys were able to ride the Aqua Duck as fast as we could run up the stairs. We’d wave to Ainsley and the rest of the crew in the pool as we passed by. It was cold and windy if you were not in the water but it was so much fun, we had a blast! Honestly it might be my favorite hour or so of the trip!! After we had had our fill of the water slide we had our truly last ice cream cone and headed down to get dressed for the Sea Ya Real Soon send off party.
Kevin and the older three got a spot for the party while I picked up Whit and put him in the backpack baby carrier so he could come to the party too. The kids happened to be standing in the perfect spot which became a line to take one last picture with Mickey! The party consisted of a 20 minute speed round of character pictures (one per family and move!) and then a send off song. Liam had a few signatures he still wanted to get so we raced around the room for one last time and tried to get them all in. We gave Belle one last hug, who always recognized us and seemed to genuinely love our family. We all waved to the characters as they sang their goodbyes and then went downstairs to finish up our packing and go to bed. Luckily, Neydi, our state room host allowed us to put our bags out late (they were supposed to be out of the room by 10:30pm and then they transport them off the ship to the port in the morning). Since she gave us until midnight we were able to do all the things we wanted to on the last night and got our bags out by 11:45pm. Kevin and I finally got to sleep around 1am with a big day of travel ahead of us. I think everyone was very sad that it was the last night on the cruise!
