J: We stopped at Noosa on our journey and it was a lovely little town on the sea side with the everglades inland slightly. We all wanted to try stand up paddle (sup) boarding. So we hired some boards and got a quick intro on the basics. The boards were huge, 11 feet long, but Georgie and I got the more advanced boards which were thinner than Sam's and Marika's, I don't know why I ended up on one as Marika wanted to practice her balancing. But off we set and it was nice to paddle around the island, with a lot of clearly expensive houses, they were immaculate, access by boat, swimming pools and the kitchens/living area just flowed outside. How the other half live! But back to the boarding, we also pasted a posh wedding on the beach with horses and everything…. we slowly paddled past, I noticed the camera man taking photos of me while I tried taking photos with my GoPro, I know that will make it into the wedding album lol. The paddle boarding was a nice easy activity, not as fun as surfing but the lady was telling us how people do yoga and a fitness class on them, some of the stuff they do in the fitness class sounded really hard and I think I would end up in the water more than doing exercises. Then we set off for Brisbane, after spending so much time on Fraser Island we all had a little shock as I drove into the city, it all felt so big and busy! We finally found a great place to park for the night, in the middle of the city next to a park, and even found another Juicy Lucy camper here… it was meant to be. It was our last night in the camper-van so we decided to go out to celebrate the 3250 kilometres together; we even took kev-the-roo. We had some great burgers and then headed off to a pub renowned for quality beers and suddenly we were a cuddly toy down, Sam had lost Kev-the-Roo! She thought it was a prank but even after searching the streets Roo was gone forever….. We had to drown our sorrows after that.
S: I honestly thought one of them were winding me up, and when I realised he'd fallen out of my bag I was a little heartbroken. It was a lovely view in the morning and then we met our first angry Aussie, a lady that was not happy that our camping spot was in front of her company entrance and the park was closed as there was a large charity event happening that morning, so we apologised and quickly moved on! We helped the girls find a hostel and leave their bags. We popped to a market on South Bank and it was full of quirky things that I would have loved to have brought if I wasn't travelling. After that we had to return Filly the Juicy van just outside the city, and then the four of us went to have a last meal and play a few cards at a Mexican, with a few beers lol. Lauren, James's cousin was on her way and this was farewell to the girls. Three weeks had travelled fast by but we'd had lots of fun, adventure and laughs (ok mainly at Georgie lol).
