So this was the first week at camp we spent the first morning cleaning and getting the cabin ready then at 1pm they slowly started to arrive we had 6 girls one who's dad works in the kitchen and one who was Portuguese. We went through rules, did the swim test and a camp tour, we then gave the kids an opportunity to sign up for activities for that week and then we had the opening campfire. Where we all sung camp songs and watched skits. The next day we were all given our schedules I was put on the camp play for first 2 periods then lunch, an hour off then mountain side which is sailing and windsurfing and lakeside (swimming) this is the same for the rest of the week and each day had a different theme and evening activity one that I really liked was capture the counsellor which is basically a big hide and seek and you get more points for how many years the staff members has been working! Other activities we did was a newspaper fashion show, a ridge hike! Which is an awful 3 mile walk uphill that we have to pretend is fun! And the beach party! We also had 4th of July fireworks on the beach where some people sung the national anthem and others rode around on horses waving flags! On Thursday some of us went white water rafting in Pennsylvania and as it had been raining A lot the river was flowing fast, we had buckets on the rafts to get the water out of the boat which of course meant the trip turned into a huge water fight! And although none of our group fell in we all came back absolutely soaked! For the day off this week we stayed at a motel in town and spent the day at crater lake which is a huge beautiful lake near camp with those weird fish that eat your skin!
