Port Douglas is my favourite place on the planet. It is stunning. Really chilled out and just a tropical paradise. We had two relaxing days here. The hostel was really nice, probably the best. We sunbathed, looked round the market, ate ice cream and were generally very lazy. It was great!

We did a couple of day trips from Cairns. The first was a trip to Mossman gorge, the daintree river and Cape tribulation. At the daintree we went on a river cruise and saw crocs! Cape trib is gorgeous, it's the only place in the world where the rainforest meets the reef! The second was a day out to the reef. This is definitely my favourite, I could do it again and again. The Whitsunday islands are stunning. It was still recovering from the cyclone so it rained a least once a day but it was still brilliant. We stayed on a little boat called summertime for 3 days and 2 nights. We Scuba dived, snorkelled and kayaked. There were so many sting rays in the area we were kayaking!

There's not much to do at Mission apart from white water rafting or sky diving. We did the sky dive. Seriously, it was the best thing I've ever done in my entire life. Jumping out of a perfectly good plane at 14,000 feet, free falling 10,000 feet in 60 seconds and opening the parachute at 4,000 feet. Briliant!!

We did the diving certification here. It took 4 days. 2 days were theory and skills in the pool, with an exam and the other 2 days were practising the pratical skills out in the ocean. I managed it fine and I am now a qualified open water diver woowoo! The visibility wasn't the best off magnetic island but we still managed to see a fair bit.
