So here I am, writing our final entry. It's been emotional.
It was time to leave the US of A and head back to Frank's home country (no, not Korea but Canada). Our departure started with a ferry ride from the Vermont side of Lake Champlain over to upstate New York.Which is nothing like the populated parts of the State around NYC.The Adirondacks Mountains are beautiful - so wild with only the Winter Olympics site of Lake Placid marking the otherwise undeveloped landscape.
After a spot of kayaking, a monster ice cream and a chat with the locals later and it was time to say goodbye. We had an effortless border crossing at the fancy area of Thousand Islands and made the long drive to Toronto to stay with Ant's cousin Kathleen, Fuad and Devon. And what legends they proved to be - putting us up for almost a week whilst we started our wind down and attempted to sell our car.And by attempt, yes I mean try really hard.Nobody wanted Frank. We couldn't believe it.One dealer was so quick to say "no f-way way would I take that car" he hung up on us.Others didn't even get off their chair to take a look outside. We can count on one hand how many emails and calls we got from the E-bay and Autotrader adverts. We were beginning to think that we would have to leave the poor Frankster at the airport when Kathleen came up trumps and gave us a contact who agreed to take Frank off our hands for an OK sum.So wherever you are now Frankie, hope you're having fun.
With our days as traveller bums running out, we had a lovely time with the Canadian family in their funky Beaches area and I managed to meet up with Jess from PlanPer for a spot of shopping.
And so after a total of 23 flights, 17 countries, 126 different beds and 45 different tent or campervan spots, we've made it back to Mother England. Thanks for looking at our blog, if only for the pictures.Like I said, it's been emotional.
