I had a leisurely morning yesterday. Ron went golfing with a few co-workers and I blogged then decided to go for a run. Hmmmm! Let's see, how shall I describe the experience. I'll start with saying that it's not a good idea to ask the fat concierge for a running route because he obviously does not work out! I was instructed to run along the ocean (same as yesterday) because no one runs on the path around the golf course. I think that it can't possibly be as difficult as the night before because I hadn't stayed up late drinking substandard red wine. So, I head out. The first 3 miles I felt strong, a little hot as it is 82 degrees with 75% humidity but I do Bikram so i thought it would be fine. What i failed to realize was that the wind was at my back projectiling me faster. When I turned around, because the beach ends, I had to face the dreaded gail force winds. So y'all clearly understand what I mean by gail force, I had my music set to the highest level because I couldn't hear the songs over the wind beating against my body. It was like placing a treadmill in a steam room, setting it to an incline of 10 and hopping on. During the entire run home I kept hearing Ron in my head saying, "Is this fun babe? I mean what are you training for?" I am happy to report that not only did I make it back to the resort but I ran an additional 2 miles around the golf course where there was NO wind. Yes, I may have suffered from mild heat stroke and was miserable but I got my 8 miler in!! I hung out by our private pool waiting for Ron to return from golf. This room is awesome. We have a golf view, kitchen, two rooms and our own pool with a fountain! After I recovered, we headed into town. Bucci was closed so we went to the last restaurant on my list, Salsa Bar and Grill. This place is rated numero uno on Tripadvisor...well, the food was ok (even Ron agreed) but the view is the real reason to go. That and they have ice cold Peroni on tap. 5 beers later we head back to the resort for the welcome reception or as I call it "forced fun". The alcohol helped me get through the numerous conversations with strangers about how their flight was, what did you do today? Tomorrow? God save me!! I was in bed by 9 because of our plans to scuba dive today! One last note, Port Douglas is like a larger scale Hanalei complete with old church! I'll try to download pictures. Ron and I are off to the Great Barrier Reef. Hopefully we see some cool s***!
