I am now in Hoi An!
Just a four hour bus drive (still a scary one) from Hue we arrived around 7pm and found a little place to stay, $23 between 5 of us for one night which isnt too shabby! We went for dinner, where they had happy hour from 4-9pm - so I was straight on the vodka and lemonade at 38,000 dong - 2 drinks for about 1.20! I am going to cry when I reach Australia and realise life really isnt that cheap..
So today we went in search for a decent tailor, as Hoi An is renowned for its cheap but quality tailoring. After a (what seemed) very long search in the intense heat, we eventually settled on acute place run by about 5 Vietnamese ladies who were of course very attentive and helpful, but every time we asked for the price we got a look of: 'you can afford it, don't be silly!'
In the end I settled for a long grey winter coat (with black trimming), some surfer style boarder shorts, a summer dress and a lovely going out dress that hopefully will look okay on me when we go back this evening to try them on! In all my clothes came to around 50 pounds which is incredible as they are made to fit etc. whatever materials we wanted we got! The only bad thing was, when taking my measurements I suddenly felt verrrry hot and faint (ala hawaii 03!) and had to rush to the toilet to be sick, lovely! The colour drained out of me so I looked even more pale than usual!! The lovely sales women started rubbing this thing similar to tiger balm on my stomach which was quite funny as I'm sure to them it must've been like rubbing Buddahs belly as they're all so tiny!
Bus leaves for Nha Trang tomorrow evening, another long overnighter. It's much hotter in the south so hopefully the aircon will be working! Will update more when I can, hope I'm not boring you too much!
Lots of love, miss you all xxxxxxxxxxxxx
