We arrived in Bangkok yesterday - got picked up from the airport by a driver and a mini-bus, so nice not having to use public transport after the nightmare in Hong Kong! Our guest house is okay, room is big and we have a nice view of Bangkok (NOT) and we're 5 mins from the Koh San Road. Last night Charlotte and I were having dinner in the restaurant of the hotel and we got chatting to a nice lad called Glen from Belfast. He's doing a similar tour to us so we were chatting about that and we both fancied a beer - something which they don't sell in the guest house!! Charlotte wasn't feeling well so she went up to the room while Glen and I went to the famous Koh San Road - we found a great Irish bar called Shamrock with a fantastic live band that sang all sorts of songs!! One of the guys looked like a Thai Ozzy Osbourne!! There were offers on Miller lager so we bought 2 and got 1 free and ended up getting quite pissed! Got home about midnight in the end, whoops! Had a good laugh though. Today we've been shopping, it's fantastic out here! I bought another bag, a pashmina and a dress for about a tenner! Just had a Thai Massage for an hour at the hotel for about 4 quid! Just relaxing now and then heading out again tonight for our last night in Bangkok. I'm meeting my friend Caroline tomorrow for lunch, I worked with her in Basingstoke, so really excited to see her and to speak to someone I know! Leaving Bangkok tomorrow evening to start our tour down to Singapore, god knows who else is on our trip, I only hope that they are nice and a good laugh! Speak soon x x x
