Greetings from Koh Lanta!
The first 2 weeks in September were very busy. Amy came to visit and we got up to lots of fun and games. We stayed in Koh Samui for a few days then headed to Koh Pangan for the Half Moon Party. This was absolutely awesome. We met up with 2 of my friends who I met in Laos and had a very messy night. Firstly we got painted up in glow paints so we looked really luminous. We headed on a tuktuk to the jungle which is where the party was at. I drank way too much and danced the whole night away until the very early hours of the morning. I was bopping away when I suddenly realised that the sun was coming up and it was getting day light. We arrived back at our resort about 7.30am where we then sat on the beach and watched the sun come up. It was truly amazing. Amy was so tired she went and sat in the reception. I found her an hour later asleep on their sofa dribbling! Ha! In the meantime I had been chatting bollox to a guy putting the world to right. I have no idea what I was talking about but I am sure it was all intelligent meaningful stuff!
Two days later and I became ill. I was becoming best friends with the toilet and this lasted for 5 days!!! I was not impressed. Especially on our last day in Koh Pangan when we were out and I realised I really needed to go back to use the toilet. We went back to our bungalow (ok, I ran back) just to find the lock wouldn't open! We had to get the guy in reception to actually break in for us and take the whole lock out the door. Eventually we were upgraded for free and given an amazing bungalow! I got to spend the night poohing in a posh toilet! I was impressed!
After Amy left I headed to Koh Lanta. This journey was a nightmare. Firstly I had to get up stupid early to catch a bus at half six! Yes, in the morning!!! I spent most the day waiting for hours and swapping buses and ferries! On one bus I was crammed in right at the back with a bag behind my chair which meant I was sat forwards. I had no leg room and was sweating like I was in a sauna! I may as well have been in a sauna to be honest. I finally got to Koh Lanta 13 hours later and my friend from England Tom came and picked me up. I spent the last 4 night at Tom and Kitty (his girlfriend)'s house. It's been a great week. On my first day here Tom took me out on his scooter to see the island. It is so beautiful. We decided we would stop to see a waterfall. We trekked in the jungle for ages walking along the water. Eventually we got to the end with no more water to walk along but realised we couldn't find the waterfall. By this point we were soaking wet, hot and hungry so thought we would head back. This time we tried to walk in the jungle so we wouldn't get so wet. All of a sudden Tom just turns round and tells me to go back. I could tell something was wrong so just went very quickly back the other way. He had seen a bloody cobra!!! I had never been so scared in all my life. We got back in the water and I was shaking. Looking back now it was a really funny situation. I was just praying Tom wouldn't get bitten as there would be no way I would possibly be able to carry him back! We were miles from anyone and had no signal on our phones. I wanted to cry. We managed to get back to the bike in one piece and I had never been so relieved in my life!
I moved into my own house today. Have decided I want to stick around here for a while so am paying 60 pound a month for this brand new place. It's so nice and big and going to save me a fortune on accommodation costs. Tomorrow hopefully I will be getting a scooter so I can go where ever I want whenever I want. It's such a hard life!
I'm off to chill out in my new place and get my beauty sleep ready for tomorrows lazy day. Hard life!
Miss you all xxx
