Katie’s Aimless Wanderings
As a lot of you know, I decided on Colombia after watching a television programme of a woman abandoned in a jungle as a child and brought up by a group of little monkeys. No one believed her (except me) and she had gone back to try and prove where her monkey pals were.

where her monkey pals were. This sort of programme is on a par with '16 and pregnant' or '40 children with 20 women' which of course I rarely watch and then only if University Challenge isn't on.
Apart from the fact that I would also have loved to have been brought up by monkeys, the scenery looked amazing and it's not poverty stricken, Burkina Faso yet again, or riddled with gun toting militia (where I'm going anyway) which should make people happier. It may even have toilet seats which may or may not be a good thing if there are lurking cockroaches, although I am expecting it to be a lot posher than what I'm used to.
I have never been to a Spanish speaking country before (oops, apart from Spain) and am limited to 'sin gluten', 'gracias' and' la cuenta por favor'. What more can I need? A last minute panic led me to google some phrases and I also now have: 'Mi aerodeslizador esta lleno de anguilas' (my hovercraft is full of eels), ' este caballero pagara todo'. (this gentleman will pay for everything) and probably the most useful: ' tienes la cara como una nevera por detras ' ( you have a face like the back of a fridge).

So I have overcome my fear of flying over water which has led me to avoid anywhere to the left of the UK. I can't hold my breath for 11 hours as I do when I'm driving across a bridge so not quite sure how I will manage on the flight tonight. I am planning on doing my bit for the environment and make up for all those air miles by drinking lots of wine and helping glass recycling. And as I need photos, I have put ones in of people being left behind. You will see a sneaky new one that not all of you know about!
Unfortunately I have messed up with my maths yet again and got my flight dates wrong, so am in fact getting there a day early and having to leave a day early too. Bit of a bummer but not surprising having to add 15 to a certain date. Next time I will let Tim, Allan and Richie work it out for me - although I seem to remember Allan, I still failed statistics at uni.....

katie.jenks28 Don't you dare even think about criticising my Georgie
tracks_travel I strongly advise investing in some shorts for him or you may get arrested under "OPERATION YEW TREE"
katie.jenks28 I thought it was Operation Teabag???
Di Oh Katiepoops I am SO surprised you got muddled up with dates !! Ha Ha. . Another good phrase for you - UN VINO DE GRAN FAVOR . xxx
Allan Eagle I once turned up with Trudie at Dover to be told by the check in girl that our tickets for our summer holiday were for the next day. So no correlation between being able to knock out a good stat and having any practical ability to work out what day it is! Happy Christmas
