Woke up early at 5:30am to catch the bus to Cairns. It was kind of a hot, cramped, sweaty 6 hours of our lives but we made it safely!

After hopping off the bus we decided to walk to our hostel along the Esplanade and stop for some lunch along the way. We decided on a burger joint called Grill'd. It was pretty ordinary and we regretted it for the rest of the day.

We enjoyed a sunny and sweaty trek to the hostel, dragging our heavily laden winter wear filled suitcases behind us and basically jumped straight into the pool when we finally arrived at the hostel. It was nice to get into the holiday mode and we spent almost the entire afternoon lazing about and napping. It was great to not have anything to do.

We checked in with Zac (the guy house sitting for us) and puss to make sure all was well and then decided to walk back into town for some din dins.

After some pizza and ice cream we strolled back to the hostel and settled down for an early night in. All in all it was a perfect start to the holiday. Now bring on Japan!
