Hello everyone!
Well today it is my birthday but more importantly it is National Umbrella day! Weird! We haven't got anything planned for today but we will probably get something a little nicer to eat than usual:P
Yesterday we went downtown on the bus and tried to figure out how to get across the river to the USS North Carolina Battleship from WW2 and how to get to, more importantly the RIVER COURT featured in ONE TREE HILL (basketball court where they shoot alot of scenes) :) The battleship is one of their biggest tourist attractions but being the pedestrian unfriedly town they are, you can't walk there as there is no sidewalk on the bridge! We found out that the water taxi only runs on the weekends so we had to get a taxi across because i was deterimined to see the River Court. So we arrived finally and it was sooo cool:) The court was a lot smaller than it appeared on T.V but looked just like it, minus the actual basketball nets which weren't there for some reason. All over the court was chalk writing from fans saying how much they loved One Tree Hill. I wrote on one of the flood light poles. Sadly no cast members were there but that would have been pretty unlikely.
We then went over to the Battleship which was really interesting. It was made up of 9 decks! It was huge! You could walk through the whole thing which is what we did. You had to follow the arrows around and i am certain that if you didn't you would get totally lost. It had a doctors office, dentist and barbers in it and we could walk around where they slept. It was pretty cool! The outside of the ship was pretty impressive too as it had huge guns on it. All the stairs in the ship were really steep and narrow though which i really didn't like. After we had finished going around the ship we had to get a taxi back, so it was an expensive day but a good one:)
