What a day!! I think Simon is a bad omen...
We went to catch the bus to dover today but missed it because we were waiting at the wrong bay. We managed to get onto the next one half an hour later though which was good. The bus was 3 hours.
Dover's famous for it's white cliffs, we weren't there for very long though, we hopped straight onto a P&O cruise to ferry over to Calais in France.
We hired a car in Calais and had barely gone 100meters before we busted a tire and had to replace it! Driving on the right side of the road is a whole lot harder then it looks! We had 5 people watching the road after that :). We will need to take it to get repaired tomorrow when everything's open again.
It's very deceptive here with the time, because it doesn't get dark until 10 at night so it feels like 6 when it's actually 10 at night. (it also gets light at 4.30 in the morning)
We decided we weren't going to make it to Reims on time so we stopped off in another town on the way called Arras. It is a really cool town! Cobblestone roads and buildings and churches that are hundreds and hundreds of years old. There's someone playing an accordion in the background and heaps of restaurant and bars filled with people drinking wine and beer.
We stopped to get internet and a drink in a bar and tried to find a place to sleep for the night. After a lot of stuffing around and then getting lost, we managed to find a place just 5mins out of Arras.
I'm excited to be in France, hopefully tomorrow will be a bit easier!
