After our (very) quick trip through Germany, we headed back to France and into Strasbourg, a city right on the Germany boarder. The city was very beautiful like all of the French cities so far, and is part of the alsace region (known for their pastries!!) and surrounded by a river that weaves around it and through it.
One of the best things to see is the Nortre Dame cathedral, which we got to check out inside which was pretty awesome!
On the first night there, we decided to have some drinks and try out some of the local bars which was fun. The wine was good and we even snuck in some flaming absinth shots in one tiny bar. The next couple of days we then had time to just stroll around the town and eat their amazing pastries, cheese and wine!
Our accommodation was nice and we had our own little kitchenette so we cooked up our first 'home cooked' meal of spaghetti bolonaise which tasted delicious.
Strasbourg is the end of the line for our car ride, it was convenient having a car, but stressful - we punctured a tyre within the first 5 minutes and got backed into by a van in Germany! (no damage done thank god!) and now the boys no longer have the stress of driving on the right side of the road. At least we can look back and laugh at it now.
However with no car, we now have a 14 hour bus ride ahead of us to get to Budapest! Hopefully we get some sleep on it!
