It's getting colder here as winter sets in. The days are shorter, there is more cloud, and I'm wearing socks to bed!
This also means that my tan is fading fast, and it wasn't that convincing to start with. So now it means that when I get back to the UK everyone will have a better tan than me from the inevitable fabulous weekend of sunshine just before I land back!
I have continued to look as glamorous as ever throughout my time here. The photo attached to this blog entry demonstates new depths! Enlarge it to see the true horror of me as a human slug!
At 5am at Tembe, which is north on the border with Mozambique temperatures suddenly dropped significantly overnight, and we moved to temperatures so cold in the morning that after 40 minutes of sitting in the back of the truck driving at 40km per hour against the cold air I couldn't move.
The next day we took blankets with us, and I wore as much of my wardrobe as possible whilst still being able to move my arms! In the photo I am wearing: 4 t-shirts, 3 long sleeve tops, a fleece, a raincoat, a hat, gloves, 3 scarves (one around my head and ears), and a blanket....AND it was still bitterly cold. Happily the sunrise made up for it (see the photos section for the pics), and then a fabulous sighting of the African Painted Dogs.
Up to that point I confess I had spent a lot of time on the vehicle dreaming of hot fresh coffee!
