So today I ventured out for something I've been looking forward to!
The Studio Ghibli Museum!
Somehow managed to navigate my way there with a little help, which was 2 trains and a bus. On the way back though, needed more help and a friendly guy sorted my ticket after I pressed the wrong one, and showed my to the right train. The Ginza Line that goes to the hostel I have pretty much down now though.
The museum was very cool slightly odd shaped building covered with vines with a big metal man from Laputa on the roof. They had model of My Neighbour Totora with him jumping, girls skipping and cat is running. They would spin round and the flights would flash making it look like they were moving. They had original artwork from the films put up on walls on the second floor, with hundreds of books on places, stones, types of grass, types of trees, types of flowers, The paints they use were out as well, I've never seen so many shades of one colour before! All labelled very precisely with only the smallest change in colour.
They also had a little cinema showing of a mini film. In Japanese but it was still good to watch - an elderly couple help some small mice train to beat the bigger white mice at sumo. Very sweet little movie. And still funny even though I couldn't understand!
There was a big cat bus toy for kids to climb in and play on.
They also did good cheese dogs. But it was a bit windy today which make it colder sitting outside. There was a heater but not very good.
Eventually I decided it was time to leave after spending, probably too much, in the shop.
Just spent some time near the local shops after that to find yet more noodle cups (SO GOOD) and a hat, as when the wind picks up it does get somewhat chilly. But I'm not here for the weather!
Over all, very cool day!
