Another trip today to Angkor Wat, famous temples in Cambodia. Picked up at 8am, our tour guide is full of statistics and percentages, most of which I'm pretty sure he has made up! Learnt a lot though!
Got there and I have never been so hot in my life, 39 degrees walking around temples with no shade at all, I was dying!
Cambodias history is really interesting but once you have seen one temple, you have pretty much seen them all! They are all exactly the same and have the same story to go with them! Kind of lost interest after the second one!! But then we did go to the temple where they filmed tomb raider which was pretty cool!
Raced to the top of one of the temples, about 200 steps, not a good idea in this heat!! Have drank about 4 big bottles of water today!! We're meant to be going to watch the sunset on a hill somewhere but we were all done by about 3 so went back for a nap!! Went to a lovely restaurant for tea, everywhere here has live music, some of them are really good!!
Then got a tuktuk to the Cambodian Circus which was incredible! It's performed by Cambodian students and the money you pay helps to fund their school fees so they can learn for free. It was incredible! Acrobatics, live music, singing, dancing, circus tricks! I was mesmerised the whole way through!! They were all so talented!!
Went for one final drink on pub street, Long Island ice tea, seeing as it's my last night here! On the way back, bumped into a 15 year old girl with a 7 month old baby asking us to buy milk for the baby, so obviously that killed me and I went and got her some milk!! If she had asked for money I wouldn't have done it, but we actually went to the shop to buy the milk with her, really got me!
Last night in Cambodia, last night in a hotel, back to hostels for me tomorrow in Vietnam! Excited to go there, first time being properly on my own! Got a facial booked in before I leave though, just a little more luxury!!!
