Hi!
So Udaipur to Ajmer on the train, then we got a rickshaw to Pushkar! The rickshaw ride was pretty long and very bouncy but we were too impatient to wait for the bus, and nobody seemed too keen to tell us when the bus would be leaving either, so jumped in a rickshaw.
Anyway, along the way we passed bulls, loads of goats, a massive lizard, dogs and camels!! So random seeing camels trotting along the dusty streets, but very cool!
We arrived at Pushkar and had a little walk to find our guesthouse. The little town is a complete tourist trap lined with stalls selling souveniers and Indian crafts, all of them are very lovely though, and i'm happy to have a browse, Jon doesn't mind either really! ha! The peope around town were lovely too, and wanted to shake hands with me saying "Hello, how do you do"!!
Our guesthouse is really lovely, very open and light, with hanging swings everywhere, its so chilled out.
Today i had a lady come to the guesthouse and paint henna onto my hand! It looks really good i think, although seems stange having my hand painted with orange patterns!
Today we also went on a little camel trek. This was so funny, getting on the bloody thing was hilarious, bit scary as it stood up! We had one each with a guide and rode through town with the traffc and headed out to a bit of desert for sunset. It wasn't as uncomfortable as i thought it would be but not sure could sit on it for longer than 2 hours! My guide was brilliant, and chatted about his life in a village before he came to Pushkar to work, Jon's guide was 15 and had one thing on his mind and didn't stop talking about it, much to Jon's annoyance!
Tomorrow we head to Jodhpur for a couple of nights!
Hope your all good, missing you all.
Kate and Jon xxxx
