Vienna! Monday morning we jumped on the bus for Vienna. I struggled on that trip, I was sick & had nothing for it and it was so so hot. We got to the hostel- wombats at the naschmarkt, a hostel built last year, but the austrians don't believe in air conditioning. We were on the top floor & myself on the top bunk, it was a bit warm! That evening Kristen was sick so stayed in, and I went on our walking tour around the city. Viennas really good for walking around, everything's so close. We had a schnitzel included in our tour, and an apple strudel for dessert. Yum! We headed back for the hostel, some people went out to the travel shack- a bar run by Australians with crazy drinks and shots. Tuesday we got ready to explore, bought fresh fruit for brekky and wandered the town. It's been about 34 the whole time we were in Vienna. We had a pretty lazy day and then bought picnic supplies and caught the train to the Danube river. There's a perfect spot for swimming and picnics right on the river, it's beautiful. We ate & watched the sunset- that's what this blogs photo is of. We headed back for an early night. Wednesday we had our grape grazing tour- a winery region tour on bikes. We caught a train through stunning scenery to Krems to collect our bikes and set off. We visited two wineries and had tastings, had lunch in a really cute little town, had tastings of all different apricot products, had chocolate tastings, stopped at a spot along the river for a swim- the water comes directly from the mountains when the snow melts so it's so cold, and all up rode 26km. Good workout! We got back to the hostel close to 7.30pm, cooked dinner for ourselves- another stirfry yum! And then got ready to go to the travel shack. We tried quite a few different shots and got back to the hostel early morning :) i love Europe!
Next stop Salzburg!
