We are in Laos at the moment but I'm going to backtrack a little as i was procrastinating when it came to writing about Chaing Mai. This is Thailands second city and is a lot more laid back and quiet than Bangkok. Whilst we were there we had an amazing day out just outside of the city itself! First we were taken to a local village where the boys were fascinated by the local pigs (?). We were then taken to see a waterfall and went for a mini hike around the country side while it was shower raining. Then the most exciting part of the day was the elephant riding! Me and Karli were riding this massive one with a erm driver ( I'm not sured what else to call him, he was sittnig on the elephants head and telling him what to do). Dan and Iain were left alone on theirs so she just spent a lot of time eating in bushes. Me and Karli threw a banana at Iain, good times. To round off the day we went bamboo rafting where the raft is actually below the water line so you are just sitting in the river. Mass water fight ensued. All in all very good day!
