Karli and Nessy's Adventures
We went to Lop Buri to meet Dan (he came back out to Thailand because he decided he couldn't bare to be away from us). I didn't realise that this was a town ruled by monkeys. Apparently there are two gangs and a sort of mafia monkey thing going on, well from what I saw the monkeys definitely are in charge. Here we went around the Chedi's and Wats from 8th century to 13th century was all very interesting. We then headed up to Sukhothai by train, I love the trains here because you have people coming on and selling all sorts of food so you never go hungry, so we basically ate all the way there.
In Sukhothai we stayed at a nice hostel where Dan had his birthday, we went all out and got him a cake with 19 candles, decorated it with m&m's and sprinkles, it really was good, and what does he go and do, he decides to get ill and then spends the evening projectile vomiting. Pleasant I can assure you. What was amusing about this though is we bought Dan some Sprite that could go flat to keep his strength up, but as impatient as Dan is, he couldn't wait so Iain decided it would be a brilliant plan to put his thumb over the top of the bottle and shake it. Iain had a nice sprite shower.
What we actually saw at Sukhothai was the historical park, Sukhothai used to be the old kingdom in the 13th century, we saw Wat Sorasak which is has elephants built into it, another Wat with a huge Buddha inside, and the largest Wat complex which was Wat Mahathat, and all of this was amazing to see, we got a Tuk Tuk around the park but unfortunately it was chucking it down, although this didn't stop us from seeing everything and also messing about.
We then headed to Chiang Mai by bus, I had to sit next to Dan which I wasn't happy about because of the whole throwing up thing, but luckily he had recovered by this time :oD
We have just been to the Night Bazaar in Chaing Mai, which was fun, absolutely massive and the food is really expensive, well I say expensive, its about 60 baht for a meal which is still under a pound but it feels expensive.
