Hey Karla,
Thought I would post you a message to say hello and to let you know I have been looking at the photos, they are fantabulosis. My friends have just paid for their flights for their trip next year, its almost the same as your trip but minus the USA, they're so excited and I'm so jealous! The V Tickets have come and gone! They sold out so fast! I don't think I'm going to a festival this year but me and my sister are going down to Newquay for a week during surfing championships, can not wait. Other than that I don't have much to report. Glad you are still having fun, everyone misses you lots. Take care of yourself, love Claire (and Maz, who isn't here atm but I know shes thinking of you lots and sends her hugs and love!) xxxxxx

Hi Griffettes - Just want you to know that I am a very regular visitor to your site even though I don't often leave a message. ( I check five days a week from work!) It has been such fun watching your progress around the globe and it seems like it is taking you ages to get to Vegas - although I'm sure the time for you is just rushing past.
As far as the bungee goes, no, we certainly don't think you're a baby - just think you're crazy to do it in the first place! There's one here on the Strip that turns my stomach every time I see it. If you start to feel brave again you might like to go to the Stratosphere while you're here; there's a roller coaster and a pit dropper on the very top of the tower, and they've recently added a new ride which involved hanging out on a thin ledge about 20 feet from the edge. One day when it was windy people were stuck out there for over two hours. Be safe - love from the Gunnions.

Well, we've nearly had our time in the south island - we've covered about 4000km so far and 10 days to go before we leave for Fiji! We've seen so many beautiful things/places here - i'd highly recommend a visit......but beware....the BLOODY SANDFLIES!!!!! Why does no-one tell you about these little b*****s??? They're worse than mosquitoes and the bites itch like crazy (and as usual - most insect repellants don't work properly against them! They don't buzz-which is why i think you get bitten so much coz they sneak up on you!!! I can now remember what it was like to have chickenpox - the itching drives you crazy (and mum isn't there to rub calomine lotion on you!!) I think i've just about recovered from my Bungy jump.....I don't think i'll be doing another one though!!!! I really hoped that i'd like the adrenaline rush..but i was just plain terrified!!!! I couldn't stop shaking afterwards, felt sick and burst into tears!!!!! Please don't think i'm a big baby - but I was just soooo scared!!! Went to Pupu springs yesterday in the Abel Tasman national park - it's the freshest water spring in the world - water so clear you wanted to jump right in (but you're not allowed in case you contaminate it!) Also went to Harwoods Hole...which is a huge chasm in the ground - doesn't sound much but it was really cool! There are so many things we've seen and haven't put on here - there's so much stuff i keep forgetting where we've been! Piccies may be delayed for a while as the internet cafe's aren't that fast and i've got soooo many photo's to put on! We leave for the north island on the 3rd, so even more cool things to see & do there. I really hope that lots of you keep checking our site......there doesn't seem to be many messages being put on...........is anyone reading this????!!!!!!!! (That was a hint by the way for more of you to leave us messages - it really does brighten up our day if we know someone is thinking of us!!) Anyway - bye for now and miss you all xxx

hey girlies, glad to hear your having the time of your life. I'm so glad you did a bungie, i wouldn't have the guts! The paragliding looked like an experience too. I'm in the middle of checking out your pics, there are so many on there, and my pc takes a while to load them. You both look really well though, with a lovely tan. Hope that camping was fun and with all mod cons, i bet you were the talk of the campsite! The pictures are lovely, esp the boat trip with johnny. The views were amazing! Going to Chester next weekend, for Em and Nat's B'days. Should be a laugh, haven't been away for a long time together, but it wont be the same with out you kim! Well take care and i'll keep checking those pics!! Miss you, love ya...xxxx

WE JUST BUNGIED !!!!!!!! Woo hoo It was awesome !!!! - 43m kawarau Bridge I can wait to go higher !
Well since the last edition we have seen and done many more wonderful things i will mention but a few..... climbed several mountains one of which was called Mt Carvill and is said in mauri religion to be a princess's petrified head and feet ?!! ok then ..all of the climbs and walks we have done i have mainly done in flip flops/jangles/thongs which is rather dangerous but challenging !we saw the steepest street in the world Brunswick St (didnt climb that tho)- We had an encounter with a giant cheese eating hedgehog (some of u are already aware of this but for those who arnt now u know) - Went to the only castle in NZ Lanarch castle it was really nice had a bit of an eastenders history tho inscest the lot ! I have decided i want to live in a castle (not because of the incest tho) - Nugget point rocks that look like nuggets saw sealions elephant seals and fur seals (for some reason i thought elephant seals were walrus so i was a tad dissapointed) - saw a blow hole in the middle of a field which was really cool (a b***** to get to tho
there was lots of cow poo but no cows ?) -saw some lovely waterfalls (lots n lots of them )-curio bay was good it is a fossilised forrest u can actually see trees but they are made of rock ?! I found a fossil of a plant and i stole it (u r not ment 2 ) i am so proud of it its well cool - Saw the 2nd largest lake in NZ (the 1st was to much of an arse to get too ) - went to more lord of the rings sites rainbow reach was awesome i think frodo was in the bush ! Stayed at Lake Teanau which was amazing we were the only people there we had the whole lake to ourselves we drank goon and got bitten by sandflies it was great then we slept in the forrest by the side of the lake totally awesome ! - headed up to milford sounds which was fantastic its huge valleys that were created by glaciers and are now filled with water we took a boat ride which was cold but r4eally worth it we got all the way out to the tasman sea we saw the fault line in the mountains which was dead cool ! - went to a place called the Chasm which was another nice bit of work by old MN (mother Nature) if the pictures are on u will have to see for yourselves its too hard to explain !Yesterday i sat next to a giant emu type bird made out of copncrete in 28 degree weather listening to bagpipes ! we are off to go on a gondola thing that goes up a mountain i will be back for more up dates soon love u xxxxxxxxxx
