Hi everyone! Just a not to say that we got here fine - a very long flight, but at least we got fed (we saw the people picketing at Heathrow so were worried we'd go hungry!).
Bangkok is really hot and smoggy - but we like it! It's not as bad as people had made out. We went on a tuk-tuk ride the other day which was fun-but a face mask for the smog would have been a godsend-we had to hold our breath for a lot of the journey!
We are now in Chiang Mai-it took 11 and 1/2 hours by train from bangkok. It's a lot cleaner and less slummy here, and on Monday we are going for a 2-day trek into the mountains to visit some hill tribes, ride elephants, go rafting and other stuff that you would normally do in the mountains!!!!
We've seen loads of temples and lovely sights and today did a lot of walking! Also the food is great-I will try not to come back 10 stone heavier, but it'll be difficult!!!
Miss you all - and Clair...please please please don't trash my house and cash that blank cheque!!!
