Onto the Great Ocean Road. We stop at the memorial on the road that was built to remember all the WWI soldiers that came back from the war and built the road.
Its a steep winding road with lots of cliff drops. First stop was at a Caravan Park to feed the birds and spot Koalas. I actually had a bird eating out of my hand!!!. We then stop off at Apollo Bay for lunch then a slight detour off the GOR to the Otway fly walk park. This is a National park that has one of the tallest and longest tree top walks. we walked around the ground for a bit, bumped into some rather strange looking dinosours....we were convinced one of them looked constipated and another looked pretty gay!!!! It was then onto the treetop walk. At first it didn't seem very high then all of a sudden the ground looked a long way down. We then came to the spiral tower. My first thought was NO WAY! but then I thought what the heck and started the climb. Well when I reached the top my heart was certainly beating!!! I then had the decent down again...
After we finished at the Otway Park we got back onto the GOR to head for the famous 12 Apostles for sunset. we arrived just in time to see a wonderful sunset, we also got to see a whale in the distance and then we stayed till just dark and saw all the Fairy Penguins coming to shore to there nests for the night. It was funny just seeing them plop out the water and walk in single file up the beach.
Our home for the night was in a hostel in a small town called Princetown, population of about 20 people!!! We had a BBQ dinner then headed to the pub for a couple of beers.
