Have had a great first proper day in Denmark. Beautiful sunny morning. Kids had a ball playing with the playful little goats and seeing the chickens. geese and bee hives on the property. The kittens stole the show though with Tobias and Grey making leaving for the day a challenge.
Went to the living Viking Centre which is a working Viking village where people are dressed in the traditional dress and work farms, build boats, make jewllery etc just as in the past. There were lots of animals as well.
Zoe and Zac got to mint their own coins, whittle spears and shoot arrows. There was a great falconry show and both the "little Australians" got called up to have the birds land on their them. Zac was in his element in the Viking battles where they taught the kids how to use a shield and sword and he bravely fought the not so fierce, lovely Viking "yellow legs". The centre is closing for the season so for a last day celebration, the workers each had made a boat to race. Their entries were very amusing and it was a great, fun finish. We feel like we're walking amongst giants here. Everyone is so tall!!
Headed home to play with the cats. Adam has been completely won over and has promised the kids a cat (or 2!) when we get home!!- comments
