Happiness Is The Road
We really liked this camp site so we decided to stay another night and just have another chill day . We went to do our laundry after breakfast and encountered a load of shena****ns because of a rude woman. When we went in the laundry room a woman was already there and she was very rude. She didn't say hello to us. There were only two machines and within a split second of us getting there she said abruptly 'I'm using both machines'. One of the machines she was loading and the other one was empty. In a split seconds she lunged across the room and proceeded to chuck clothes in the empty machine. She didn't even have that much stuff, the daft cow! We had some towels and a sheet though that we wanted to hand wash so we got on with this. She was then being stroppy about Jay running water and stopping her machine from filling properly, daft cow, it was her own fault! When our towels had been washed and wrung out she came back in to add something to one of the machines. Jay had put our washed towels on top of the machine as the cycle was 30 minutes and she didn't expect her to come back in so soon. She didn't say excuse me or anything and then tried to push our towels back into the water! She shouldn't have hogged both machines at once, stupid woman. She had perfect hair and looked proper snooty, why she was camping goodness knows! She was the first horrible Australian that I have come across on this trip. Usually the Aussies are so friendly. This woman is a definite exception to the rule. We went back to the camper for a bit to wait for her washing to finish. We waited nearly an hour, more than enough time for her washing to be done and collected. When I went back both machines had finished but her stuff was still in them! You'd have thought she'd have the decency to go back and empty them on time as she knew we'd be waiting. I moved her cleaned stuff out onto the side and put our stuff in. She then came in with her husband and said to me 'you don't do that'. I said politely that we'd waited very nearly an hour and just got on with it. She huffed but said nothing more. Her husband who was with her said nothing. I got the impression he probably thought she was a daft cow as well. God knows how he puts up with her! I had done nothing wrong and if she hadn't been so rude and selfish and obnoxious in the first place this wouldn't have happened. She is the one who has failed to adhere to camping rules and etiquette. Most camp sites here issue you with rules upon arrival and I now quote from one of these 'Remove washing promptly from washing machines and dryers upon completion. Park management may remove and store laundry items as a result of non-compliance'. So we were in the right. Jay half expected later on to go to the showers and find that she was already there, saying 'I'm using all six showers and don't even think about turning on the taps to the basins' whilst trying to shove all her limbs in different cubicles! When our washing cycle was nearly finished we went and collected our washing promptly as per park rules. We took it to the washing lines and expected her to have used up all the space. Luckily she hadn't and we got our stuff dried without further drama. Later on in the day we went for a walk along the beach and in the sea down to the town to see what it was like. It was a nice little place, very quiet and very local. Despite the rude woman we have enjoyed staying here.
