Happiness Is The Road
It had been a lovely quiet night but very cold. We both survived the night intact and Jay even managed to sleep for a little bit. There had been no mad masked men which was lucky!!! After breakfast we had a mooch around the lagoon and saw some pelicans and a snake on the road! After that we hit the road, all lagooned out! Jay wanted to be by the sea again. Our first stop was at a Pelican look out. There was a short walk trail to the look out. On the way we saw absolutely loads of pelicans flying over but none were to be seen on the ground. It didn't matter though as we're just having such a good time being together. After that we went back into the Coorong National Park further down the coast and went on a walk to Ocean Beach. It was a walk through the dunes and the effort was well worth it. The beach was beautiful. It was sandy in most places but with sections just filled with thousands upon thousands of gorgeous looking multi coloured shells. Some were fully intact but most were crushed up and broken. It was just wonderful to sit on them and marvel at the incredible surroundings. Jay was completely in awe of the place. Apart from a couple of men fishing we were the only people there and the beach stretched for miles in each direction. After we had walked back to the camper it took us an hour to drive to Kingston Se where we found a camp site for the night. On the way into Kingston Se we stopped to take photographs of the giant lobster on the edge of the town. What a crustacean!! We chose the camp site well as it is right on the foreshore and we got an amazing site on the edge of the park overlooking the Southern Ocean. We went for a walk along the beach and then had a lovely tea outside at the back of the van. The sun set was magical and beautiful. We are in paradise together.
