Happiness Is The Road
After brekky we headed back to Watarrka National Park and Kings Canyon. This morning we did the Kings Creek walk, a shorter walk than yesterday that took us on a path along the mostly dry creek through the bottom of the canyon to a lookout. Near the lookout we had loads of fun when we went scrambling over the rocks along the creek bed to where we found a really cute and picturesque little billabong. It was amazing on this walk to be at the bottom looking up at the high walls of the canyon. The weather was a lot cooler today and we had to wear our fleeces. It's the first time we've had to do this on a walk since we were in the Blue Mountains. When we got back to the camper we were quite sad to be leaving as we have had such a good time here. Kings Canyon is a completely awe inspiring and magical place. We would definitely like to return here some time. From Kings Canyon it was back towards Alice Springs but it was nearly 500 kilometres away and too far to go today. We drove just under 300 kilometres back to the Stuart Highway where we stopped at the Erldunda Desert Oaks Roadhouse caravan park. When it went dark it got very cold and we snugged up nice and cosy for the night.
