Happiness Is The Road
After brekky we headed back to Western Battery to get our gorgeous little camper fixed. With the battery fully charged yesterday she started no problem. We left her with Mark at Western Battery to have her alternator transplant and we walked to the park to kill an hour or so whilst we waited. Two hours later we were very relieved to get a phone call from Mark to confirm that the transplant went well and she was ready to go. We were really pleased to see our little camper. She started first time and purred at us. Mark and the other guys at Western Battery had been absolutely brilliant and below is a copy of an email we sent to Western Battery to thank them.
'We just wanted to say thank you for the excellent service we received when we brought our camper van in on Tuesday with problems with the alternator. We were pretty stranded (although luckily it died on your forecourt!) All of the staff we came into contact with were absolutely brilliant and we were on our way within 24 hours, with hardly an interruption to our travels. Particular thanks goes to Mark Turner, who was fantastic, he really sorted things out for us efficiently and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend your company. Thank you again. You totally saved us! Rog & Jay'
We went to an IGA to get some food and then we headed to the Blue Mountains, a two hour drive away. We left warm weather, about 21 degrees, and blue skies behind in Orange. The closer we got to the Blue Mountains the cooler and wetter the weather became. By the time we got to Blackheath it was drizzling and the wet weather look set in for the day. The temperature had dropped to about 12 degrees. This is the coldest day time temperature I have experienced in Australia since I got here in October. It is the closest we have felt to being back in the UK. This was proper autumnal British weather. The camp site at Blackheath was very nice and we relaxed for the rest of the day wearing our fleeces. We hoped that the weather would be better tomorrow. We went to bed early wearing socks and snuggling under a duvet and two sleeping bags. It was a bit cold.
