We've spent the last few days in Rome, and we are exhausted! We have seen so much while we have been here....the Forum, Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, the Crypt of Capuchin monks, and lots more! We had an amazing dinner one night - the restaurant menu had the option of just having small dishes of pasta brought out to your table....chosen by the chef. They just keep bringing out more until you say "stop!" Sean thought he could last forever....but in the end we only lasted through 6 plates. All of them were delicious! And Sean thinks the wine (which was served in a water pitcher) tastes like juicy juice....he says from now on at home we're going to buy the huge jugs of cheap Italian table wine!
Somehow we've managed to do all of that at what seemed like a relaxing pace, stopping here and there for gelato (yum!) and pizza and wine....but now it's all catching up to us and our bodies are very angry with us! Our feet kill, our legs are so sore, and both our backs and necks hurt....probably from our backpacks. Hostel beds and pillows (if you can even call them pillows) definitely don't help. We are heading to Interlaken, Switzerland next....hopefully for some R&R!!
