Frankfurt has been great - an unexpected surprise! We had planned on only stopping here for a night on our way to Amsterdam, but we ended up having a great time and staying for two nights. We found a great Irish pub that we hung out at, and watched lots of rugby! The pub was even showing the Superbowl, but we didn't stay that late since it didn't start until nearly 1 a.m. here. On Sunday we started walking toward the zoo, thinking that might be a fun way to spend the afternoon, but along the way we found ourselves in the middle of a HUGE city-wide parade! It was so much fun! There were great costumes and floats, and tons of candy being thrown around. The music was hilarious....the traditional German tunes were interspersed with songs like "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Hey Baby" from Dirty Dancing! It was great! Sean got very much into the spirit of things....maybe a little too much because he started racing little kids for the candy. By the time we left hours later, he had pockets full! It was one of the best parades either of us have ever seen....they even had floats with kegs and guys were handing out free beer!
