The Long Road Out of Venezuela!! Today I was woken up very early from our Japanese friends who had been partying all night - it was 3am and someone was throwing up and an hour later Yuki was creating havoc peeing in the kitchen where the ladies were trying to make breakfast. In the morning everyone slept so I took the time to do some research and have one last walk around Ciudad Bolivar. I met some new guests that were doing their Salto Falls tour and was able to give them some tips and ideas that would hopefully make their experience even more enjoyable. Our tickets arrived for tonights bus - so we all got the last of our things together and I changed a heap of Bolivars back to dollars with an Italian guy who was also staying at the hostel. It was sad to have to say goosbye to the lovely lady at the hostel and as a parting gift she have me an avocado and didn't charge us for our last nights stay at the hostel. After saying goodbye to everyone we headed to the riverside and took a taxi to the bus station. As it was dark when we arrived I was a little nervous but found the station was full of local people, families and children and there was really nothing to worry about. We lined up for what we thought was our bus but after waiting nearly an hour to board we found out it was the wrong bus but the right company. We madly ran around asking people where we might find the correct bus etc and they all told us it had not arrived yet. Eventually the bus came and we had to wait another hour before they finally let us board. There was some mix up with tickets etc but after another 30 minutes we were finally ready to disembark 1.5 hours later then our scheduled departure - that's Venezuela for you. Immediately the freezing air conditioning was turned on and I felt the cold all the way to my bones, so it was on with my beanie, scarf and jacket. I managed to get some sleep and the only thing that had me keep waking up was the freezing temperatures the air conditioning was creating.
