After two days of terrible allergies and the worst asthma attack I have had in over 5 years I am ready to say goodbye to this town. It's strange how attached I have become to my routine and I actually fear loosing some of my daily practices such as getting up at 4am to do my exercises, watching movies every night, daily yoga sessions, big cook ups and my afternoon walk. I think that is why I am so addicted to the road it forces me not to attach myself to anything and when you have no attachments, routines and habits then everything is exciting and fresh. I guess I can look back and say the past two months have been a worthwhile sacrifice of my time but would I do it again? I don't think so - 1 month was enough and to be honest my Spanish has gone downhill since that point and I have been to caught up on trying to learn grammar and not actually use the language. The good thing is now I can be out trying to use Spanish and I will be able to analyze where I need to improve and discard all the irrelevant stuff I have been learning. Trying to stick to my "try something new everyday plan" I found an unusual fruit at the mercado today called Pepino Dulce (sweet cucumber), I was told it is used in salads and to make juice. Anyways for lunch I made a salad and used the Pepino dulce and wow delicious and quite unusual - somewhat like melon somewhat like a peach but absolutely perfect for salads. I have also been thinking about what direction my travels will take from here on out and I can't help but think my travels need to focus on new things, adventures and more specifically food. Food is what brings people together and even the poorest of people put immense amounts of effort into their food. I really like the idea of traveling and trying all the bizarre and unique foods and drinks of a country. I have started to research Bolivian cuisine a little and although not overly diverse there are certainly some interesting dishes I want to try. Now if only I could combine my love of fitness (travel fitness), nutrition, bizarre foods, unique places and people of the world then I would find my dream job?
