This morning we went to the Chinese Gardens about five minutes walk from Darling Harbour. It was beautifully set out with trees, paths, a couple of ponds with Koi carp in and several pagoda type buildings. It should have been a haven of peace and tranquility but there is a road on one side and a building site on the other! So a little noisy!
After that we continued walking to Central Station where with hundreds of others we got a free shuttle bus to the SCG or Sydney Cricket Ground. Mick had managed to get tickets last year for the semi final of the World Cup and Australia were playing India. The Indian supporters outnumbered the Australians and it was a very noisy match with drums and hooters all over. We were lucky that is was the best day since we have arrived in Sydney for the weather. It was very hot sitting in the sun all afternoon but it cooled off in the evening.
Australia won the toss and opted to bat first and scored 328 for 7 in 50 overs. It was really quite exciting at times especially when they hit fours or sixes. After tea India were batting but it really wasn't as exciting and they were all out for 233. So Australia play New Zealand in the final.
Going to the cricket was another new experience for me and I quite enjoyed it because it was a very lively atmosphere but not sure whether I would go again.

Jenny Cricket is only good when you can sit in the sunshine watching it! You also really needed the rest after all the activities of the past days.
