My Medical Adventure
This weekend we have been living it up in Tobago. After a 6hr ferry ride, which only cost us 3.50 we arrived in Scarborough, Tobago. As soon as we stepped off the boat you could hear the caribean soca music playing and the vibe seemed very relaxed. We are staying in a 2 bed appartment 5 mins walk from Store Bay. The appartment is really nice and it especially nice to finally get a bit of personal space!! no offence to everyone i'm travelling with. We have spent two days chilling out on tobago's beaches. Store bay is a very small but pretty beach, with lots of locals trying to sell you boat trips and crafts. It is also famous for its food stalls, which definately fulfil their reputation. I had Jerk chicken rice peas and salad which was gorgeous!!! One thing about store bay though is that the fish are not very friendly !!! The first time I went in the water to cool down a little fish who I was admiring swam up to me and tried to bite one of my moles off, He drew blood the little b*****!!!!
Pigeon Point on the other hand charges a 1.80 entrance fee but it is well worth it. The beach is beautiful, and alot more spacious. Palm trees line the back of the beach and sand is pure white.
On sunday we took a boat trip around the coast of Tobago. We saw some of the prettiest beaches on the island, some of which you can only get to by sea. We snorkelled in three different reefs, seeing lots of amazing colourful fish. I think my highlight however was swimming with stingray. We stopped in this sucluded bay, at first no one could see any. I went to sit on the beach in the sun when suddenly out of nowhere I saw this dark shadow moving across the water. I grabbed my mask and snorkel and it was amazing. the sting ray swam right underneath me in the shallow water, I could have reached out and touched him!!! We saw two others before we left the site, wow is all I can say, it was soo cool!!
After all that excitement we stopped at Nomans land (penisular of land with a little beach) to have a beach BBQ and some rum punch. The trip was finished when we dropped anchor on a sand bank in the middle on the sea, the captain pumped the music up and we all drank rum punch and danced in the sea, which was only just above our waists. It was so sereal!!!!
