My Medical Adventure
You will be pleased to know that I survived my sky dive. (14,000ft, 60sec freefall, open parachute at 5,000ft and 5min relaxing float to the ground) It was amazing!!! I think I screamed all the way down, "we have a screamer' were my instructors words. The freefall was very scarey, we tumbled and spun, the air was so cold, drying my eyes and mouth, and all the while a camerman was filming me in action, not the most flattering of photos!!! The experience was amazing though I would definately do it again. The views I got over Sydney were awesome, that was once my parachute was open and I was actaully able to appreciate them!! I even had a go at steering the parachute which was cool and my landing was perfect apparantly, I was able to lift my legs up nice and high to land on my bum, Yeah!!!!
Enough of Sydney however as sadly I had to leave, although I would definately like to come back some day. I am now in Thailand, my last stop before home. I have been here for 5 days now and I am not quite sure what to make of it!! The first 3 days were spent in Bangkok and to be honest I did not really enjoy my time here. The city is alot less developed than I was expecting, it is very dirty and polluted and everyone seems to be out to con you and get your money !!! The one good thing, is that we managed to book ourselves into a rather plush hotel with 2 roof top swimming pools, numerous restaurant and a health club. Sunbathing 12 floors up admist the fumes of the city is quite interesting however. As tourists in Bangkok we visited the famous Chutachuk market on sunday. It was a mass of stools selling everything from jeans to trainers, beach wear, jewellery, trimkets and food. I could have brought so much stuff, as it was all very cheap, but it was far to hot and sweaty, we couldn't stand it for too long!! We ventured out to Patapong to experience the Thai night scene!! It was very scarey!! There were so many old, ugly english guys with young Thai women, leering all over them it was quite disgusting. I was ashamed to be British! There were also loads of brothels and strip bars everywhere. The boys made me go into see one of the shows. It was horrible, the women weren't even attractive and they were doing unimagiable things with candles and ping pong balls. I don'y know how it turns men on!!! We did finally manage to find a farily respectable bar with cheap drinks and after a few cocktails me and rynn joined who I only assume were thai prostitutes on the dance floor. The owner of the bar thought we were very funny!!!!but we didn't care.
Whilst in Bangkok we also took a trip up the canal in a high speed canal boat, went to a snake farm, visited the Big Budda Temple, went shopping in China town and took a ride in a Tuk Tuk (a three wheeled moped with seats in the back). It was all very nice but again you always felt that everyone saw you were white and were just out to get your money !!! One exciting thing that we did do was to get some tailored made suits. I got a grey skirt suit. i love it my first proper 'power suit'.
I am spending the last few days of my trip in a beach resort 2hrs from Bangkok called Pattaya. Me and the boys left Rynn back in Bangkok with her Dad, who has flown over from Malaysia. We thought we would end our elective in stlye so we have check into a nice hotel on the beach and I plan to spend the next few days relaxing by the pool. The weather is a bit changeable so far but I am quite enjoying just doing nothing as I know when I get back its all going to be go go go !!!
This is my last diary entry.
Next time I speak to you all I will be back in England. I have had an amazing time but I am really ready to come home. Miss you all too much!!! Thank you for reading my diary, I hope you have enjoyed it. Sorry I did not sent many individual e-mails, I will catch up with you all really soon. Love you all lots
