Another good brekkie to start the day and a stroll to the coach stop on the main Tanunda road, saying goodbye to the Dove Cote.
We make the return journey to Adelaide by coach to Gawler, managing to get some in transit photos of Jacobs Creek winery. We transfer us and the luggage onto the train back to Adelaide, a journey that seems so much quicker in reverse.
We get a taxi back to the Adabco Boutique Hotel, leaving our bags then heading up to the Jam Factory for our second attempt. We checked the opening hours before setting out! It was worth it. There was a great shop full of works of art by the resident crafts people from jewellery to glass work to wood work. I resisted the temptation to buy a beautiful silk scarf died using pomegranate. There were some interesting items, including a fab wooden crane (see pic) and a device that consisted of a pulse oximeter which you clipped to your ear lobe and headphones attached to an iPad. It displayed your heart beat through music and visually. An interesting concept. I wondered if it might help people with panic attacks?!
We strolled through town at a very leisurely pace stopping frequently! I got some yummy salted roast macadamias. It was 10 degrees cooler than our previous visit and so much easier going!
Our next stop was another second attempt at Tandanya, the aboriginal art institute. We looked at a great collection of art. Although I didn't particularly like the subject matter there was an amazing life size wood sculpture of a croc. The shop was full of lovely things, thank goodness I don't have room for anything!
We still hadn't eaten lunch at this point so we walked through the botanic gardens to the National Wine Centre where we indulged in lunch with a glass of wine. I had a glass of Hugh Hamilton's The Madam, Sparkling Merlot which was delicious and made all the better by the label, which had a sheep on it and the phrase, 'every family has one'. I assume this refers to the madam bit and not the sheep! We tried to educated ourselves about wine but this section was temporarily closed, so we had another glass of wine sitting outside! I had an Eva Frizzante, which I had enjoyed so much when tasting yesterday. It slipped down very easily! The building housing the wine centre was beautiful, so I walked around whisk Donks soaked up some sun. We walked back to the hotel stopping at Bocelli for a drink and I picked up a salad to go. We headed back for a bag re packing session in preparation for our flights to Uluru. I also managed to catch up with my handsome fiancé on Skype!
