At the moment I feel as if the last leg might drop off! I am at Changi Airport in Singapore waiting for my onward flight. I got up early (by holiday standards) to say goodbye to the Auty family. I then failed to go back to sleep. I stubbornly lay in bed for an hour but all I did was listen to the big aircraft coming over the house as they came in to land in a cloudy Sydney. We'd had some good storms overnight with grumbling thunder and torrential rain, so I was due some sleep. It's now nearly 2am the following day equivalent in Aus and I've not slept yet.
I had planned to lie dans le jardin and do my last bit of tan topping up but the weather was not conducive to this I had a nice cup of tea indoors. After packing I left the house at noon on the start of my trip back to the uk.
I started by getting the light rail from Lilyfield to Central Station. Then the airport express train the Sydney International. 3.5 hours were happily wasted in SYD, getting a couple of bottles of the gorgeous sparkling Shiraz I'd discovered at Peter Lehman's cellar door in Barossa.
I had a salad for lunch, guessing that I'm unlikely to see any healthy food until I get home! BA16 took 8.5h to get us to Changi Airport in Sydney, where I am currently feeling quite jaded!
