This morning started with an effort to find shoes for this evenings outing. Helen and I headed out in the car to the Broadway shopping mall. After yesterday's efforts I didn't really care how cheap the shoes were so long as they worked with my dress and lasted the night! I ended up with the same shoes as Helen in a different colour from KMart! At around £8 for the pair you can't complain! I spotted a Havianas vending machine in the mall, next to the ATMs, only in Australia!
We had a lazy afternoon and I had a couple of hours worth of Nana nap, having sat chatting to Helen late last night!
We dressed ourselves up. Helen got William's approval and we headed to the Opera Bar for supper. I had Barramundi, which was delicious. I also had a Dirty Carpet Disco cocktail, which was also very good. Duncan arrived with about half an hour to spare so joined us for a bite to eat and some beers.
The performance of The Magic Flute was an abridged production with very brightly coloured set and costumes, sung in English. The seats were a lot more spacious than any English opera houses and Helen had chosen good seats. The audience were a resale mixture and not quite as well behaved as the British bunch! It was a great performance and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We stopped for drinks at Quay Bar before heading back to Lilyfield to relieve the babysitter!
