Back in Cairns and back in the YHA, i waited for little Joey to arrive. She's been up here doing her own thing for a few weeks and we couldn't wait to meet up. Just like when i've had other visitors from home, i get really nervous and it's like an interview of first date - such anticipation! What shall i wear? I must paint my toenails.

Well there she was, in front of me and we just jumped up and down and yelled at each other for a few minutes and got freaked out and i had a little cry and then we just beamed and grinned and sat by the pool and TALKED non stop for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Jo took me out for dinner which was SUCH a treat after the slop i've been eating and very kind of her. And we had a pint but shortly went back to the room and konked out - too much sun and excitement all round.

Jo left for her flight to Brisbane at 5 the next morning and i'm staying another night before catching my bus down the east coast. We see each other again on Stradbroke Island for Christmas - yay!
