The day finally arrived and my stay in Wellington was at an end. Sadly i didn't have much work in the last week (just a day and a half) and felt unsure whether to go and getting on with some wwoofing or stick it out till the weekend. The lure of a little leaving do proved too tempting and everyone was only really up for it on Friday night so i stayed. I spent the day making nibbles (palmiers, sausage rolls, garlic bread and toffee apples - all home made!)...

So back to Picton and on the ferry for the crossing FROM HELL! The boat soared up into the wind and, shuddering, plummeted down into the huge waves, which crashed over the TOP of the boat. The worst weather Cook Strait has seen in years but (typical NZ!) the sun was shining too. Weird! It was torture. A boat full of puking people. Dan slept. i didn't puke. The journey took an EXTRA HOUR. Nice. So Dan's time to leave had arrived. We did our last bits of shopping...

So the great day arrived and Dan was due to land at Wellington airport at 2.30pm, so i got there at 1pm...just to make sure i was on time! A bit keen but yes i was pretty much beside myself with excitement. It felt strange and nerve wracking - like a blind date or something. As the automatic door swooshed over and over again letting streams of people into the Arrivals hall, the first view of New Zealand that every person had was of a crazed blonde bird sporting...

SORRY! i've been a bit slack on the old update front. i do apologise. So what's happened? Well loads and nothing really. Easter was bleak. I had no calls from the agency ie no work and some truly appalling weather descended upon Wellington. It was dark and miserable and wet and foreboding - which seemed to match my mood. Winter (it's autumn really) seemed to loom up like a perilous storm and after the distinctly summery time we had while James was here, no...

So James flew off to Auckland this afternoon. :o( We did some last minute King Kong stalking yesterday and had a great night out with Ian and Laura last night - it was certainly an appropriate send off for Jimbob. Thank you James for coming here and spoiling me and being so ace and funny and good company and patient! Love you! x
