Left Auckland and hit the road finally! Decided to get to Wellington asap for maximum earning potential as i'm a bit skint (once again!). So i headed straight to Taupo which was a pleasant 3 and a half hour drive through Hamilton and beyond. Saw road signs for Matamata (where Hobbiton was created for Lord of the Rings) and Te Awamutu (where the Finn brothers of Crowded House fame were born and bred). Didn't really have time for stopoffs so no photos i'm afraid!

Arrived in Taupo and stayed with some of the Bunac girls (thanks Gill, Ruth and Kat for letting me doss!). Rob is staying there too (thanks for my birthday cocktail darling!) and our little Becky was in da house aswell so it was a great old catch up. We had a bit of a night out (be rude not too!) but i didn't get to see much of Taupo - was very rainy and cloudy.

Left the next day with Becky in tow. We went for a coffee and pretty much stuck a pin in the map to decide our route to Wellington - exciting!!
